About the Appalachian Trail Portfolio The Appalachian Trail Portfolio is a result of a long-standing love affair with the Appalachian Trail where I first began my journey in nature and landscape photography. Between 1991 and 1992 I backpacked the entire 2,100-mile length of the Trail from Mt. Katahdin in Maine to Springer Mountain in Georgia. Since 1997, I have been exploring the Trail with my panoramic camera, and while I continue to tote my traditional 35mm camera on my journeys, documenting Trail lands in panoramic format has increasingly become my passion.
